Catch me in Cassis!

Catch me in Cassis!

Oh the South of France, how we could talk about the South of France endlessly! Steep gorgeous limestone cliffs framing the dreamy narrow inlets as they wind down the pebbly beaches and the century old chateau. An escape like no other, Cassis is a voyage into another realm, one of tranquility, serenity, peace and lots of wine!

The Mediterranean fishing port cascading with bundles of personality is the perfect location to retreat in search of peace of mind and some sun. If it is the ocean that you favour on your break from the city, we can only recommend Les Roches Blanches. Located on the seafront close to the hidden beaches of the Calanques this small seaside resort is the perfect romantic getaway to forget about your fast paced life. Harbouring the Atlantic and set apart from the village in secluded gardens, this hideaway is a stepping stone into a world where your only priority is relaxation. Here, you can walk the secluded garden grounds with your Menorca Monoo Kaftan to keep you sheltered from the radiating sun rays, whilst simultaneously feeling and soaking up that effervescent summer heat. Styled with the pastel Cassis buildings in mind, a minimal two piece neutral toned swimsuit (one piece or a bikini, your choice!) along with Menorca draped over your shoulders is the only way to discover the land this Maison is set on and all the gorgeous Art Deco vibes it has to offer. Dip into the stunning sea view infinity pool or cool off in the sensational waterfall nearby, either way we already know that the free flowing waters will melt your sorrows away as you transform into your most calm self.

With Cassis corralling with abundant nature on every front of the city, there is no shortage of different types of activities and getaways one could have. Set in the middle of Cassis’s lavish vineyards, Maison 9 is the ideal location between the coast and the countryside. With lots to explore around this beautiful location, this 19th century property sits within verdant gardens ripe and ready to be explored and dissected. Each of the four rooms hosts a private terrace and kitchenette making the location a true summertime escape. Imagine walking around the grounds in a gorgeous white summer dress perfectly hugging your body and reflecting the ambient light from above, with Bhutan from our Wild Horizons collection to add some more dimension, colour and character to your look. Match the orange and forest green colours on the kaftan to your shoes and bag along with some bold and gold jewellery to transition the look easily from day time to night time as you sit under the clear night sky and indulge in a delectable French dinner. We don’t imagine it gets much better than that.

Well known for its rolling hills of superb wineries and vineyards, a trip to Cassis is incomplete without a full discovery of the wine reserves the French have to offer. Our personal favourite (one of many, if we’re being completely truthful) is Domaine Du Paternel. With three generations having succeeded each other at the head of this vineyard, you can taste the history and culture in every sip. Endless beautiful grape plants flow over the rolling hills of this winery as you sit on their front porch and marvel in the beauty  of the landscape and the crisp, floral and flinty notes of the wine. Some dusky grey linen pants, a cooling silk/satin white or pink chemise alongside Nairobi, is the perfect outfit to sit back and enjoy your wonderful day in Cassis’s best vineyards, catching all of tthe best vibes and the tipsy wine giggles of course! If you happen to be around in September, so not miss the cities Les Vandanges Étoilées (The Starry Grape Harvest) celebration held annually celebrating Michelin starred meals and Cassis’s greatest wine offerings.

Bordering on the Atlantic Ocean, Cassis is the perfect location to explore the rich marine life so abundantly prevalent in the South of France. Take a trip under the surface of the sea with a diving trip from one of the many diving school and i structures available around town. If you happen to choose to stay in Maison 9, ask the hosts about the diving expeditions and equipment they offer and take a day to be one with the ocean. Pack Santorini or Boracay in your Oceanside bag to give you comfort for when you return to the surface as you plunge deeper and deeper into the unknown. Paired with a simple black one piece swimsuit for easy changing in and out of your wetsuit, these kaftans would look great over anything including head to toe diving equipment!

With many more dazzling options to explore, we hope to see less flights booked to St Tropez and Cannes (although we do love both) and more flights booked to the gorgeous city of Cassis in the South of France!
